Custom Honor Award for the Texas Society of Architects

This new Honor Award for the Texas Society of Architects is made from reclaimed long leaf pine and mild steel to reflect the TxA’s sustainability goals and to reference the beautifully restored historic structure in which the TxA offices.

The long leaf pine block is supported by an elegant welded steel frame and projects forward beyond the frame, signaling progress.

The TxA logo was machined into the steel sleeve that intersects the wood block.

The proportions of the steel frame and wood block are based on multiple cubes, a three-dimensional reference of the square logo of the organization.
